A bus owner was fined a whopping Rs 5.81 lakh and the vehicle was seized by RTO officials in the capital city on Wednesday for violation of Motor Vehicles Act and non-payment of tax.
According to reports, the bus bearing registration number OD10F0409 plying from Koraput to Bhubaneswar was detained by the Bhubaneswar-II RTO’S enforcement squad at Khandagiri here morning.
The vehicle owned by Sneharekha Padhy of Pujariput in Koraput lacked stage carriage permit and fitness certificate. Besides, MV tax of the bus from May 2019 to October 2020 amounting to Rs 5, 66,981 was not paid.
The challan of Rs 5, 81,981 has been issued against the vehicle owner while the bus was seized by RTO officials.
