District Collector B Parameswaran directed all the concerned departments to coordinate the Defence authorities on war footing in repair and renovation work of the road connecting the Baleswar Station Square and Patrapada by April 1 next.
The direction came after a meeting with the defence authorities on Monday evening following a road blockade by agitators protesting over the dilapidated road condition.
Besides, Parameswaran urged the Tehsildar to carry out demarcation at the earliest and the Baleswar Municipality Executive Officer to take action for eviction of various encroachments.
He further asked the electricity department to shift poles wherever required for the renovation work and construction of culverts.
