In a deeply disturbing case of patricide, a BSF jawan allegedly hacked his father to death at Madanpua village under the Ramachandrapur police station in Keonjhar district on Sunday.
Reports said accused Ranjan Kumar Ojha (25), who is posted in Arunachal Pradesh, had come to his village on leave. An argument ensued between him and his father Pramod (58) over some family dispute.
The matter took a violent turn as Ranjan in a fit of rage stabbed his father with a knife. He also attacked his younger brother Basudev (22). The trio sustained injuries during the incident and were hospitalised.
While the brothers are currently undergoing treatment at the SCB Medical College Hospital in Cuttack, Pramod succumbed to his injuries at Sainkula Hospital.Police have sent the body for postmortem and began an investigation.
