Breastfeeding most effective for baby's immunity

PNS

The Rotary Club in association with the Indian Academy of Paediatrics organised a seminar on breastfeeding here on the eve of the World Breastfeeding Week at the Gurukul International School on Thursday.

All the girl students from Classes-VIII to Plus-II participated in the seminar.

The speakers discussed about the significance and utility of breastfeeding at length through power-point projection and emphasised on the message that

there is no substitute tobreastfeeding.

Breastfeeding is the best way in giving immunity to the baby to fight against all the diseases throughout his or her life and also in ensuring bondage throughout the life.

The aim of the seminar was to percolate this message not only among the young girls but also through them to their family members, neighbours and, ultimately, to the society.

The seminar concluded that breastfeeding not only prevents breast cancer but is also the single-most cost-effective intervention to prevent and reduce neonatal mortality and infant mortality.
