The Seventh Brahmapur Mahotsav would begin from January 4, 2015, said Mahotsav committee coordinator Susanta Kumar Sabat here on Saturday.
Sabat, after holding a meeting with his core members, informed that the festival would be held at the Khallikote College ground in the heart of the city. The seven-day-long festival would continue till January 10, he added. The coordinator revealed that the State Culture Department would help the committee in organising the festival. Every evening of the carnival would witness cultural extravaganza along with intellectual discussions about issues related to south Odisha, he said.
Among others, committee members Bhismacharya Chaudhury, Rasbihari Das, Basant Mohini, Radha Charan Nayak, Deviprabha Rath, Suchana Padhy and Dr Chandramani Swain were present at the news conference.
