Panda described Kalam as a great scientist, a missile man, and true nationalist, apart from being an ideal President. He said Kalam’s death is a great loss to the country, particularly in the field of defence, education, and research. His honesty, kind heart, soft talk and simplicity allowed him to touch the lives of the people from all walks of life, Panda added. Speakers recalled the most valuable contributions of Dr Kalam to Indian Missile Mission Programme. The members offered floral tribute to Kalam and observed a two-minute silence for the departed soul.

Association secretary V Jagannath Rao said Kalam attended the Silver Jubilee function of College of Pharmaceutical Sciences (CPC), Mohuda in 2006 and left an indelible mark.
