Hundreds of Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) workers led by BJYM district president Pravat Kiran Sadangi staged a demonstration and burnt effigy of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik at the Brahmapur Court Peta Chhak here, protesting against Odisha Khadi Board Chairman Tejeswar Parida on Tuesday. The BJYM activists demanded to oust him from the Chairman’s post and arrest him.
Parida has taken crores of rupees as travelling allowance, but he has never visited any places mentioned by him. He was attending BJD party meeting during those periods, said the workers. He has also taken money for rent allowance, but he has been allotted a Government house, they added.
Parida has also taken more than `100 crore from the State Government to spread Khadi and Gramadyog, but the Khadi Board has produced clothes worth `5 crore only, the members also said. Parida retrenched many employees illegally who had raised voice against his corrupt practices, they added.
