PNS

The BPUT Students Union (BSU) along with the Odisha Technical College Association (OTCA) staged a dharna in front of the the Odisha Joint Entrance Examination (OJEE) office here on Tuesday alleging major irregularities in the joint examinations.

The students alleged that the existed OJEE process is lengthy and faulty which need to be rectified.

The technical part of the OJEE process always creates confusion in the minds of the candidates and students wait for two months unnecessarily to take admission in a college, they added.

BSU president Samapta Kumar Mohanty said the OJEE process should be conducted in a free and fair manner. He demanded that financial audit of the OJEE be conducted for the last five years and officials involved in it be removed. He also demanded an independent probe into the matter to unearth truth behind the irregularities in the process.

The students also demanded abolishment of the NFT (Not fit for technical education) system from the BPUT regulation. The students also staged another dharna in front of the Raj Bhavan protesting the OJEE process. Mohanty said they would continue their stir till their demands are fulfilled.
