Hundreds of youth under the banner of the Nehru Yuva Kendra (NYK) led by its district coordinator K Subramanyam organised a Swablamban Padayatra at the Brahmapur Stadium here on Thursday.
Stadium officer-in-charge Basanta Mahapatra inaugurated the Padayatra that aimed at sensitising people about the significance and implementation of the National Pension Scheme and its benefits to common man.
The rally began from the stadium and passed through the main roads en route Khalasi Sahi, Gandhinagar, Old Bus Stand, Arnnapurna Market and returned to the stadium. Inmates of the Brahmapur sports hostel, office-bearers of APV, Yuvak Sangh and Mahila Mandal took active part in the event.
Among others, noted social worker Balakrushna Samantaray, District Project Officer Debi Dutta Rath, B Sudhakar Patra, Bikash Pattnaik of National Youth Bahini, Susanta Kar and Surendranath Sahu were present.
