The 8th edition of the children wall magazine Aame Kahuchhu Aam Katha contributed by children from 30 slums here was released on Sunday. Through the edition, the slum kids highlighted sanitation issues like street cleaning, drainage system, condition of public toilet and open defecation, etc. The children, members of several child clubs, demonstrated their skills through sticking their writing pieces on public walls in 15 slums of the city. Community leaders inaugurated these pieces in their respective slums.
The child federation members decided to publish the magazine in all the 30 slums once in a month. Previously, it was decided to publish once in 15 days but due to study and home work burden, the children decided to publish on monthly basis.
Notably, the Youth for Social Development (YSD) has formed 27 child clubs and a city-level children’s federation and has been working to make Brahmapur a child-friendly smart city. Child club members Bala Das, Smruti Sahu, Pinky Das, Muna Das, Suraj Das, Rinky Patra and Radha Das took active participation while Abhiram Kanhar, Chandan Sahu, Sujata Bisoi and Suchitra Rout from the YSD facilitated the kids.
