Runa Acharya, one of the partners of Adishakti Builders and a resident of 9th line at Gandhinagar in the city, was reportedly murdered near the DAV School here on Sunday afternoon.
The victim was taken to the MKCG Medical College Hospital here, where doctors declared him dead, sources said. Unconfirmed sources, however, said Acharya committed suicide out of depression. From the preliminary investigation, the local prime facie suspected that Acharya perhaps out of severe anger or depression used some sharp glass-made weapon-like instrument to cause him injury to him.
The police registered a case of unnatural death and is investigating the case, said Brahmapur SDPO Thakur Prasad Patra. The exact reason for the death is still unknown, sources said.
