Book on PR system of election released in city

PNS

There is no scope for honesty and integrity in Indian politics without the provision for political justice (fair representation) under the PR (Proportional Representation) system of elections.

The “vote-seat” distortion is the principal reason for which there is so much of corruption in India’s socioeconomic and political life.

There is political justice in full measure in Switzerland, Germany, South Africa, New Zealand, Malta, Nepal and many other countries of the world because of the PR System of Elections. In a way “happiness of the people” goes hand-in-hand with political justice.

If a political party gets 80 per cent of the seats in the legislature against 43 per cent of the popular vote then there is bound to be a high degree of discontentment among the various sections of the voters.

India has been a land of political injustice since 1952 because of the FPTP (First-Past-the-Post) system of election. A solution to the problem has been sought in an English Book “India Crying to go Nepal’s Politico - “PR” Electoral Way” — “to end Political Injustice: Unfair Representation & Murder of Maoists.”

The book, authored by the AMOFOI secretary and FPI general secretary B Ramchandra CST Voltaire, was released here on Sunday at the venue where the 63RD birthday of Nepalese Maoist Prime Minister Prachand was celebrated. The function’s president Manas Jena highlighted the imperative need of introducing the PR system of election in India from the GP level to the lok Sabha.
