Mock, Stalk & Quarrel’, a collection of satirical tales, published by Readomania, was released here at a function at the Rotary Bhavan. Dr Debasis Panigrahi, writer and senior IPS officer, unveiled the book.

The book is arguably India’s first anthology of satirical stories. The launch of the book was followed by an address by the anthology’s editor Indrani Ganguly on the relevance of satire and how this book came about. There was a panel discussion on “The Power of Short Stories”. The panelists included the contributing authors Ramendra Kumar and Ramaa Sonti.

Dr Panigrahi said stories can never die since listening to tales is a primal instinct of humankind.

Ramendra Kumar said, “It is a far bigger challenge to write a short story than a novel.  Even one extra word can mar the appeal of the story, and, hence, it requires a great amount of discipline to pen one.”

Rama Sonti elaborated on why she prefers a pithy short story to a meandering novel.

Writers Dash Benhur, Monideepa Sahu and Satyarth Nayak attended the function which was coordinated by Rhiti Bose and Tejaswini Aditya.

The book is available on Amazon and at all leading bookstores in the country.
