Nilamadhaba Panigrahi, Assistant District Welfare Officer (ADWO) of Bonai in Sundargarh district was on Thursday arrested by Vigilance police for demanding and accepting bribe of Rs1, 500 from Asit Pradhan, a Teacher of the Bijaghat Sebashram School, for forwarding his CPF refund file to the Sub-Collector.
Pradhan had alleged that he had applied to withdraw Rs 20,000 from his CPF account. He met and requested AWDO Panigrahi to forward his file to the Bonai Sub-Collector for payment.
