Many people from across the State are coming to the State capitalfor various purposes and all can afford to purchase water bottles to quench their thirst. So, free drinking water distribution kiosks (Jalachhatras) are welcome relief for them. The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) has not yet opened Jalachhatras though the mercury level in the city has crossed 40 degree Celsius. "BMC should open Jalachhatras without making any delay," said Gunagrahi Barik from Pipili.
BMC Mayor Ananta Narayan Jena said the civic body would open the Jalachhatras very shortly. like every year, we are planning to open 80 to 100 Jalachhatras in the city from April 1. He said the lassi and fruit juice vendors have been asked to open Jalachhatras in front of their shops.
