The Bhubaneswar Municipal Commission (BMC) Commissioner has issued a notice warning to all section heads working under the BMC to maintain neutrality in the wake of getting complains that the officials are indulging in political campaigning in favour of the ruling BJD.
Recently, the Election Commission of India (ECI) representatives during their visit to the State made indications about this and advised the BMC authorities to keep vigil on such activities. So, BMC Commissioner Dr Krishan Kumar called a meeting of the officials and warned them to act in a neutral manner during the elections. Kumar warned that he would not hesitate to file FIRs against such erring officials. He also ordered stoppage of the payments being made for the developmental works under various projects till the elections are over.A committee was formed under the chairmanship of Additional Municipal Commission Krushna Prasad Pati for immediate inquiry into such complaints.
