PNS

The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Saturday launched its citizen-centric drive Jan Sampark Divas (JSD) in 12 locations. A total of 168 grievances registered in the 12 sub-zones of the BMC.

For operation of the Jan Sampark Divas, 12 senior officers, various Ward Officers, all community organisers, sanitary inspectors, electrical and civil engineers attended the hearing programme of various civic issues including drainage, streetlight, sanitation and pension benefits.

Grievances were registered in the unique grievance register format developed for the Jan Sampark Divas which can easily be tracked. There will be a review by the BMC Commissioner for analysis of the grievances and concerns registered in the JSDs. The review is scheduled on January 18 next which all nodal officers and others concerned would join.

One important point observed during the hearings was that some registered Resident Welfare Association members also attended the programme with their resolutions.

The Jan Sampark would be conducted on 1st and 16th of every month. However, if there is a holiday, the hearing would be on the next working day. The next hearing is scheduled on January 1, which falls on the New Year’s Day 2018.
