Members of the Democratic Teachers Organisation (DTO), Odisha State committee, condemned the decision of the State Government for a 25 per cent hike in Block Grant and said the hike is like giving lollipops to the hapless teachers. Notably, the State Government has announced a 25 per cent hike in salaries of Block Grant teachers and staff. DTO State president Bibhuti Bhushan Nayak at a Press meet here on Friday said since long more than 50,000 teachers and staff have been demanding for their salary hike. “The Government school teachers will get salary as per the 7the Pay Commission. There will be a hell and heaven difference between their salaries and that of the ones getting Block Grant,” he added.
DTO State secretary Nrusingha Charan Panda and Keshaba Chandra Biswal were present, among others.
