Hundreds of BJP Yuva Morcha (BJYM) members led by BJYM Brahmapur unit vice-president Basant Kumar Panigrahi on Friday staged demonstration in front of the office of the Revenue Divisional Commissioner (RDC) here protesting Golanthara police station IIC’s intention to lodge false cases against BJP leader Shiva Shankar Das.
later a delegation went to RDC office and submitted a memorandum to the Home Secretary through the RDC demanding immediate transfer of the IIC of the Golanthara police station under Brahmapur police district.
The youth leaders alleged that the IIC has lodged several criminal cases against Das at the behest of ruling party and backed by some top police officials. Das, a sitting corporator and former Mayor of Brahmapur Municipal Corporation (BMC), is on target since he left BJD, they added. The youth leaders demanded Crime Branch probe into the matter and transfer of the IIC within 15 days, failing which they would stage peaceful dharna before the DG office.
