A State BJP Mahila Morcha delegation led by its chairperson Smruti Patnaik on Thursday submitted a memorandum to the Chief Secretary demanding a CBI probe into the Pari murder case.
The Morcha members also handed over an audio tape allegedly containing a conversation between Minister Arun Sahoo and Special Investigation Team (SIT) chief Arun Bothra. They alleged that the State Government is trying to shield ‘prime accused’. The SIT, instead of conduction an impartial investigation, has framed an innocent person in the case and is torturing the victim’s parents.
Minister Sahoo is trying to influence the investigation. In these circumstances, the SIT can’t provide justice to Pari. Only a CB probe can unravel the truth, they said.
