The BJP Dhenkanal district unit has served a notice to the district administration to stage a dharna before the Collectorate on December 11 if the stolen idols of lord Ganesh, lord Bhairav and Goddess Durga from the Chandra Sekhar Jew
Temple of Kapilash are not restored forthwith.
The idols were worshipped at the temple since 12th Century. Even though the idols were stolen from the temple premises, the DRDA Project Director, who is in charge of the Devottar Department, has not so far taken any remarkable step for restoration of the antiques.
Meanwhile, Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, former MP Rudra Narayan Pany, former MlA Krushna Chandra Patra, Bar Association ex-president Nabva Kishore Guru, BJP district president Naresh Chandra Mohapatra, secretary Ramesh Chandra Samal and former district president Deepak Prasad Pattnaik have drawn the attention of the RDC (Northern Range) to the incident.
