The BJP would hold a State-wide agitation on July 29 to highlight the failures of the Naveen Patnaik-led BJD Government.
As part of the protests, party activists would stage demonstrations in front all the 314 block offices against the irregularities in implementation of the National Food Security Act (NFSA), malnutrition deaths and delay in distribution of input subsidy to drought-hit farmers, party president Basanta Panda told reporters here on Wednesday.
“The Naveen Patnaik Government has been a major failure. It has ditched the faith of four crore people. We will be holding dharnas on Friday to expose its failures,” said Panda.
He also said the agitation would be intensified if the Government fails to function in a proactive manner and take care of women, farmers and children.
“What have you (Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik) achieved in last 16 yearsIJ You only have partonised corruption and injustice. You have made huge announcements for women, children and farmers. But the ground reality is that your Government has failed on all fronts,” said Panda.
He said, “Farmers are committing suicide and children are dying due to malnutrition. But you still claim that you are committed to a holistic development of the State,” rued Panda.
