The BJP on Sunday said the Supreme Court’s directives against mismanagement and indiscipline in the Shree Jagannath Temple, Puri has brought negligence of the State Government to the fore and the party would make people aware of it.
“The Government knew about the missing of Ratna Bhanda keys on April 4, the day on which an expert committee visited the treasury of the Shreemandir. But the Chief Minister was silent since then. He recently announced a judicial probe in order to avoid the attention of the people of his Government’s neglegence. The Supreme Court’s directives have proved it,” alleged BJP leaders in a statement.
The BJP would hold protest meetings at all district and subdivisional headquarters on June 11 (Monday) and launch a week-long protest at all police stations across the State on June 12. During the agitation, party activists would lodge FIRs at the polilce stations seeking action agaisnt those responsible for missing of keys. Besides, activists would also offer diyas at Jagannath Temples across the State.
