The BJP on Thursday slammed the State Government for not taking any action against BJD supporters who have taken
NFSA ration cards by unfair means and demanded that all eligible poor people be provided cards soon.
“By asking Supply Inspectors to ensure that all eligible persons get ration cards by July 30 and all ineligible beneficiaries return cards by August 15, the Government has conceded to its failure to implement the National Food Security Act in the State. The main reason behind this failure is that while Government officials were not engaged in identification of real beneficiaries, people belonging to ruling party were only selected as beneficiaries,” alleged party State spokesperson Golak Moapatra in a statement.
Alleging that the Government hasn’t taken any action against fraud cardholders as they all belong to the BJD, Mohapatra demanded that all eligible poor persons be identified and given ration cards soon.
