The BJP Mayurbhanj unit on Sunday began its 7-day-long Jana Jagaran Karyakram on the State Government’s anti-people attitude.
The party workers, during the period from Gandhi Jayanti to October 8, shall undertake a door-to-door contact programmme at the grassroots level, according to party sources.
The party workers during the massive campaign are going to tell the people how the Naveen Patnaik-led dispensation has deprived the poor and needy sections of the society of the benefits of the Ayshman Bharat scheme , even though it is the largest Government-funded healthcare scheme in the whole world.
Besides this, the party, during its Jan Jagaran Abhiyan, will also make people aware on the much-discussed “Chara Ghotala” of Mayurbhanj, how the PHCs and CHCs in the district remain neglected, how the State Government has unnecessarily imposed a Special Development Council despite the presence of a duly-elected MBJ Zilla Parishad, how the State exchequer is being looted in the name of Biju Yuva Bahini, how the State Government has not yet waived GST from Sabai grass and Sal leaves, in spite of the fact that the Modi-led Union Government has already done so in the interest of poor, tribal people of Mayurbhanj, etc.
If no remedial measures are taken by the BJD Government, the BJP will hold stir, the party warned. Senior party functionaries including the district president Dr Krushna Chandra Mohapatra, party State executive member Nihar Modi and former MLAs Bhaskar Madhei, Kandra Soren and Purusottam Naik were present.a
