Determined to corner the State Government over the questionable remarks of Justice Madan Mohan Das against duped chit fund investors and also demanding resignation of Minister Sanjay Dasburma for his alleged link with Artha Tatwa Group chit fund firm in and outside the Assembly, the BJP on Tuesday staged agitations at all its organisational units.
Party leaders and workers staged demonstrations at all district headquarters raising slogans against Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik for shielding tainted Minister Dasburma and other BJD leaders whose links with money collection companies have been exposed.
“When will the Chief Minister take action against the tainted MinisterIJ The CM, who had set example in throwing away many leaders in the past on the charges of mere shadow of corruption, is now shielding corrupt and controversial characters in his Ministry. While the CBI has summoned Minister Dasburma, the mysterious silence of the CM is dubious,” said BJP State unit Mahila Morcha chief Pravati Parida.
On the day, Parida along with party supporters took to the streets in Puri.
She targeted the State Government for retaining Justice Das as the head of the chit fund judicial commission even after his questionable remarks against chit fund investors and in favour of the Government vis-à-vis the chit fund scam.
“Here, the CM’s real intention towards the duped chit fund investors has been exposed. The remarks of the chit fund scam probe panel chief Justice Das have shocked not only the investors but also the intellectuals. One can now easily forecast what could be Justice Das’ probe report. But the CM is silent,” rued Parida.
The saffron party workers too protested in Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Rourkela, Sambalpur highlighting the CM’s inefficiency to act against corrupt Ministers and leaders.
The party leaders submitted memorandums to district Collectors, ADMs and Sub-Collectors addressed to the Governor.
