The BJP Kishan Morcha organised an impressive farmers’ awakening meeting at Kukudakhandi village in Ganjam district’s Digapahandi block to educate farmers about various welfare programmes adopted for them by the Narendra Modi Government at the Centre.

The meeting presided over by Sibaji Patra was attended by more than a thousand farmers.

Addressing farmers, veteran farmer leader and former Deputy Speaker in State Assembly Rama Chandra Panda said, for the first time after 70 years of Congress rule, the Modi Government has enforced “Crop Insurance Scheme” for the farmers at very nominal premium of 2 per cent only. Besides, two other dynamic pro-farmer initiatives, “Krushi Sinchan Programme” and “Solar Power System” would radically change the crippling agro-section of the country in the coming days,  Panda added.

Panda demanded that the State Government immediately release the Phailin assistance to farmers which is still pending for disbursement.

Among others, former BJP district president Bijay Kumar Swain, incumbent president Kahnu Charan Pati,  Surya Das and Gopinath Panda were present.

Earlier a motorbike procession led by party secretary Sunil Kumar Sahoo was organised to receive the guests.
