The Congress on Thursday charged that the BJP had bought lands in 18 districts at significantly lower than the market prices in Odisha before announcing demonetisation of currency notes of Rs500 and Rs1,000.

All India Congress Committee’s chief spokesperson Randeep Surjewala in a Press conference in New Delhi dared BJP national president Amit Shah and Prime Minister Narendra Modi to make public all financial and land dealings of BJP and RSS in the last six months.

He told reporters that the former BJP Rajya Sabha member Surendra lath bought 2 acre land in Kendrapada on August 30, 2016 at a mere Rs45 lakh which is below the market rate.

Similarly, BJP has bought land in Jagatsinghpur on September 19, Brahmapur and Jharsuguda in October, he added.

BJP general secretary Bhurgu Buxipatra said the party has bought land for party offices in 18-19 districts through the State Government’s land registration mechanism.
