BJP: Extend PM crop insurance date

PNS

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Balangir unit demanded extension of the last date of Prime Minister crop insurance from August 15 to 31 in view of non-arrival of forms and consecutive holidays.

The insurance form was not available in banks. It arrived on July 28 and there was a strike on July 29. The banks would also be closed from August 13 to 15 for holidays.

The crop insurance date should be extended to August 31, said Prabhas Panigrahi of Balangir BJP to the reporters on Saturday.

Many farmers are yet to get the input subsidy announced by the Government.

The vacant RI/Amin post should be filled up immediately, he added.

He also said farmers are facing a lot of problem as the banks are not accepting self declaration attestation.

Zilla Krushsk Mahasangha president Sudhir Parischha threatened agitation from August 9 demanding solution to farmers’ problems like nonpayment of input subsidy, bonus to farmers and other issues.
