The BJP Ganjam district unit on Thursday submitted a memorandum to the Chief Minister through the Brahmapur Sub-Collector demanding repair, renovation of roads and drains and covering of open drains in the Berhampur Municipal Corporation (BeMC) areas.
Party leaders reminded the authorities not to invite a drain mishap that recently occurred in a Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation area.
As most of the drains in the BeMC area are left unattended and roads are damaged by incessant rains, it is quite difficult to ride motorbikes and four-wheelers or even to go by walk. Because of poor maintenance, drains overflow and roads are filled with drain and rainwater.
The BJP delegation which met the Sub-Collector included district president Bibhuti Jena, members Kanhu Charan Pati, Manoj Patanaik, Pravat Kiran Sadangi and Ram Prasad Patro.
