BJP attack on Pandian house decried

PNS

The attack on the house of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik’s Principal Private Secretary VK Pandian by BJP youth activists was denounced by Utkal Bharat, Samruddha Bharat and the Hind Mazdoor Sabha (HMS) on Monday.

In a statement, Utkal Bharat termed the attack as “cowardice” and “condemnable”.

“Even if Pandian is involved in political activities of Chief Minister, it is not acceptable that his family is attacked. If he is involved in politics, then he is doing so at the behest of the Chief Minister. Now, BJP thinks that people would take it as real opposition party if it resorts to hooliganism,” opined Yuba Utkal Bharat president Jagadish Pradhan Similarly, HMS president Krushna Chandra Patra said the “reprehensible” conduct of the BJP Youth Morcha is not only undemocratic but also uncivil. The Hind Mazdoor Sabha strongly condemns the action.

“The forcible entry into the quarter of the CM’s Private Secretary’s house and throwing cow dung, damaging vehicles and kidnapping two police officers are an act of terrorism and indicate the future scheme of thoughts,” he said.

Samruddha Odisha said the youth activists’ action has brought the real face of the saffron party to the fore. “The BJP has never backtracked in adopting path of hooliganism to come to power, and such acts are coming in headlines in BJP-ruled States,” said party’s secretary general Prabeer Mohanty in a statement.
