Alleging that supporters of Talcher MlA attacked trade union leader Bijay Samal in the presence of the local SDPO during an agitation on Sunday, the BJP on Monday urged DGP KB Singh to take stringent action against all the accused and the police officer soon.
A team led by party vice-president Sameer Mohanty put up a memorandum in front of the DGP office as the DGP was absent, informed a party release.
“Anchalika Thika Mazdoor Sangha leader Bijay Samal and his supporters were attacked by supporters of the MlA in the presence of SDPO and the IIC. While the injured are undergoing treatment in a hospital, it is disappointing police have not arrested a single accused,” said Mohanty.
The party urged the DGP to take appropriate action against all accused and SDPO and IIC, Talcher to maintain peace and tranquility or else situation would be serious.
