The BJP on Wednesday said the ruling BJD is not with 10 lakh poor people who have lost over Rs 20,000 crore in chit fund scam but is very much with the fund looters.
“People had voted Naveen Patnaik to power for safety of their lives and properties. But his party BJD is now trying to protect arrested MlA Pravat Biswal and others, who are accused in the chit fund scam. Now, the time has come for the BJD to clarify whether it is with the 10 lakh poor Odia people who have lost their money or with the chit fund looters,” demanded MlA Pradeep Purohit at a Press conference here.
Stating that BJD leaders from bottom to the top are involved in the chit fund scam, Purohit urged the Chief Minister not to provide protection to the looters and, instead, provide justice to poor people.He severely criticised Rajya Sabha MP Prasanna Acharya for providing support to the BJD in the chit fund scam and demanded that the inquiry report on deaths of 12 persons due to consumption of spurious liquor during Acharya’s tenure as Health Minister be made public soon. The report would reveal Acharaya’s involvement in the chit fund, he said.Purohit said the BJP would reveal all wrong deeds of Acharya if the Government doesn’t make the Naidu Commission report public soon.
