The ruling BJD led by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has prepared a shelf of over 125 projects which will be showcased at theupcoming mega  ‘Make in Odisha’ conclave in Bhubaneswar to be held from November 30 to December 2.

The exercise, apart from others, isseen to project the CM as an investment-friendly leader like Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Planned in collaboration with the Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion (DIPP), the mega event aims at seeking fresh investments in the line of “Vibrant Gujarat” started by erstwhile Chief Minister Modi.

The BJD strategists pin high hope that the event will help resurrect

Naveen’s image as an able administrator capable of providing an investment-friendly atmosphere.

The much-claimed “investment-friendly” and “most-favoured investment destination” image of the State Government suffered a setback after Arcellor Mittal withdrew from its Rs 42,000-crore integrated steel project in Keonjhar district and world’s leading steel producer Posco shelved its Rs 52,000-crore steel plant at Paradip.

Besides, over half-a-dozen steel and sponge iron plants at Kalinga Nagar in Jajpur and Keonjhar districts have ceased to stop productions.

Sources said the projects to be showcased in the ‘Make in Odisha’event will cover an array of sectors including chemicals, petrochemicals and plastics, textiles, healthcare and biotech, agro and food processing, IT and electronics system, design and

manufacturing (ESDM), tourism, industrial parks, logistics and transport, Smart City projects, energy and investment opportunities for downstream industries in steel and aluminium.

Sources informed that the conclave would showcase the policy and regulatory environment, investment opportunities across focus sectors and

}manufacturing prowess of the State.

The projects to be

showcased for luring investments among others include is the Petroleum, Chemicals and Petrochemicals Investment

Region (PCPIR). The PCPIR is planned over 284 sq km straddling the coastal districts of Jagatsinghpur and Kendrapada.

Investment opportunities exist in the areas of applications like integrated petrochemical products such as polyester chips, fibres, PET bottles, PET chips, sheets and thermoforming, industrial distillates,

nresearch and development and development of infrastructure.
