BJD leaders want change of guards in B'swar

PNS

A section of BJD leaders and workers, attending a meeting here on Saturday, favoured a change of guard in the party in their constituencies in Baleswar district.

The meeting was held as a ‘friendly get-together’. The leaders claimed that the BJD’s victory in the recent urban elections was due to the Naveen Patnaik Government’s pro-people measures.

But they alleged that the dedicated ground-level party workers are neglected, for which they would not tolerate the leaders who were associated with the midnight operation of May 29, 2012 in the party to destabilise the Government.

They demanded discipline in the party and pleaded for new leaderships in their constituencies. The meeting was presided over by BJD district general secretary Dibakar Sahu. Among others, former Sadar block chairman Barada Prasanna Pattnaik, former municipality chairman Binod Pani and Chairman of Baleswar Regional Improvement Trust Tapan Chakraborty attended the meeting.
