A Nuankhai Bhetghat was organised by BJD here where Minister of Labour Sushant Singh joined as chief guest.

The Nuankhai Bhetghat is being held in all the 37 Assembly constituencies of western Odisha to strengthen the relationship of BJD with grassroots people and to disseminate the pro poor welfare measures taken by the Naveen Patnaik Government, observed Singh.

Seeing the developmental activities, like blood donation, plantation and other constructive programmes, both the BJP and Congress have become panickedising the Government only, Singh alleged.

The decision to declare Nuankhai a holiday was taken by late Biju Patnaik in 1992, told AU Singh Deo.

Whatever development has taken place in Balangir, it is all due to the programmes of the Naveen Patnaik Government, asserted Arkesh Narayan Singh Deo, alleging that the bypass road proposal has not progressed due to the inflated land price mentioned by some people promoted by the local MLA.

BJD leaders Pradeep Guru and Sushil Chand criticised the local MLA for not fulfilling the promises made to the people.

Among others, Bargarh MP Prabahs Singh, Bargarh MLA Debesh Acharya, Titilagarh MLA Tukuni Sahu, Loisingha MLA Yogendra Behera, former Rajya Sabha member Dilip Turkey, Lotus Sarangi spoke.
