Pradesh Congress Committee president Jayadev Jena on Wednesday alleged that the ruling BJD distributed money in the Kandhamal area to woo voters on Tuesday night.
“BJD leaders distributed money among voters on Tuesday night. To avoid public outrage, they even managed to disconnect power supply in many parts of Kandhamal in the pretext of repair work caused due to the Cyclone Hudhud while adjoining areas of Kandhamal enjoyed lights,” alleged Jena.
Meanwhile, senior BJP leader Bijay Mohapatra also alleged that the ruling BJD has misused its power and distributed money to get votes.
“It is not understood that while people of adjoining areas of Kandhamal were enjoying electricity, how Kandhamal witnessed load shedding for the whole night on Tuesday,” Mohapatra observed.
