Vigilance officers on Thursday arrested Sundargarh district’s Bishra BEO office Clerk Pramod Kumar Kuanr for demanding and accepting bribe of Rs 2,000 from Manko Project UP School Headmaster Sadhu Singh to process his health bill.
Singh, who is under dialysis for kidney ailments, had submitted two months’ bill of Rs 48,000 to the BEO for clearance and requested Kuanr to process the bill. But Kuanr demanded the above amount to do his work. Singh informed the matter to the Vigilance.
Accordingly, the Vigilance sleuths laid a trap and caught the clerk red-handed while taking money from complainant Singh, informed Rourkela Vigilance Inspector BC Prushty.
