Biju Janata SC Cell State convenor and Tirtol MLA Bishnu Charan Das on Wednesday strongly opposed the examination fee hike by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and demanded that thedecision be withdrawn soon.
“The CBSE has hiked examination fees by 24 times for SC and ST students and two times for General category students. While parents of SC and ST students were unable to afford the earlier fee, how they will give the increased fee and get their children pursue study in CBSE schools,” wanted to know Das.
Stating that the SC and ST students would be deprived of higher education due to the fees hike, Das demanded that the CBSE reconsider the decision soon.
