The All India Trinamool Congress (TMC), Odisha unit, on Tuesday strongly opposed the move of the State Government on formation of the ‘Biju Yuva Vahini’ under the Biju Yuva Sashaktikaran Yojna passed in a State Cabinet meeting.

In a Press meet held here, TMC Odisha unit president Dr Aryakumar Jnanendra said 18 years ago, before coming to the power, the ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD) had promised to give employment to 15 lakh youths in the State but so far not even 18,000 jobs have not been created.

He said in its 18 years rule, the BJD Government has not done any eye-catching work for the youths in the State. looking forward to the general elections in 2019, the ruling party has formed the Biju Yuva Vahini for creating employment for the youths. But it is on whose interest, he questioned.

Jnanendra threatened that if the BJD does not refrain from formation of the Yuva Vahini, the TMC would move the Election Commission and the court of law.

Among others, TMC Mahila convenor Gita Chaini, youth convenor Subharansu Sekhar Padhi and State secretary Bibekanand Patra were present.
