PNS

The Mayurbhanj unit of the Viswa Hindu Parishad (VHP) has begun its preparations for the International Hindu Conference to be held in Bhubaneswar in the last week of December this year.

After holding a series of block level meetings in different parts of Mayurbhanj, it held here on Sunday an important district level meeting, in which most of its senior leaders took part and discussed ways and means to ensure a greater participation of Mayurbhanj VHP workers in the upcoming “Viswa Hindu Sammelan.”

The meeting decided to mobilise the people and the youths and intellectuals of the district, in particular, to attend the forthcoming historic conference, which is the first ever international meet in Odisha. As part of its effective mass mobilization plan, the organization also decided to organize a district level training camp at Baripada on November 11 and 12. The VHP, the Bajrang Dal and the Durga Vahini workers from all over the district will join the camp, where senior leaders will enlighten the trainees on VHP’s ideals and goals.

Sunday’s VHP district office bearers’ meeting was attended by several senior leaders, including Harihar Tripathy, Ranjan Mishra, Haripada Kalia, Somanath Das, Goutam Giri, Divakar Tripathy and Jogesh Dandapat. The Hindu Sammelan has a special importance, as it is being held on the occasion of VHP’s 50 years of organisational work in the State, the leaders stressed. At the outset, a two minutes’ silence was observed in memory of the departed souls of the RSS workers, recently killed by miscreants in UP, Punjab and Kerala.
