Local MP Manjulata Mandal has written a letter to Union Minister of Education Ramesh Pokhriyal for setting up a 2nd Kendriya Vidyalaya at Chandbali, which is 60 km away from Bhadrak town.
After commissioning of DPCL Adani Dhamara Port project at Dhamara near Chandbali, in the mean time major economic activities have gone up massively there while ancillary industries are also coming up.
Accordingly railway link and communication facilities have devolved. Apart from the DRDO establishment at Dr Abdul Kalam Island earlier, also there is a plan to have an airport at Dhamara. The population of Chandbali area has gone up and a majority of local population belongs to schedule caste community having low educational background, she said Apart from few State Government schools, there is no such school of standard at Chandbali.
The Central Government employees have to depend on Bhadrak District Headquarters town for schooling of their children, Mandal said.She further told that administration was ready to provide land for proposed 2nd KV at Chandbali.
