More than 22 villages under Govindpur RI circle under Bargarh Block alleged that they were deprived of input subsidy for drought 2017-18 due to ill intention of the concerned RI.
In a petition to the district Collector Bargarh here, they stated that though they were affected by drought in 2017-18, the Govindpur RI prepared a list consulting with his Revenue Supervisor for vested interest.
As a result, a large numbers of farmers were deprivssssed of compensation.
They also alleged that one person unofficially engaged by the RI and the supervisor collected Rs 1,000 from some farmers/sharercroppers illegally for enlisting them as beneficiaries.
They requested the district administration to provide impute subsidy to all affected farmers and take action against the culprit officials, else they warned of launching a strike.
