The Milita BEd Shikshak Mahasangh on Sunday threatened to hold a massive protest here on October 24 (Tuesday) in protest against the State Government’s apathetic attitude towards their legitimate demands.

“Even though our symbolic protest has entered its 37th day, the State Government has not come forward to listen to us. In coming days, this would result in disruption in the study of upper primary school students from Class VI to VIII for which the Government would be held responsible. We will hold a massive Samavesh in the city on October 24,” said Mahasangha president laxman Mohanty.

They said there is a need of three TG teachers in a upper primary school after the Class VIII was detached from the High School. Accordingly, 53,000 trained graduate (TG) teachers are required. But the School and Mass Education Department has not taken any step to pay salary to the existing TG teachers.

“We demand that the TG teachers be paid Pay of Rs 9,300 and Grade Pay Rs 4,600 and TGT status to all working TG teachers.
