Block Development Officer (BDO) posts are lying vacant in as many as seven blocks in Odisha by now, informed Panchayati Raj Minister Arun Kumar Sahu in the State Assembly in response to a question of Congress MlA Tara Prasad Bahinipati.
The blocks which have no BDO are Remuna, Soro, Gaisilat, Nuagada, Champua, Boriguma and Krushna Prasad. Senior officers have been given additional charges as BDOs and are managing affairs in these blocks, the Minister said. Sahu stated that steps are being taken to fill up the vacant BDO post in Boriguma block.
