Two more crematoriums would be constructed in the State capital city in a month, informed Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) Commissioner Prem Chandra Chaudhary on Monday.
While on crematoriums would come up at Patia, another would be set up at Khandagiri. Currently, the city has its only crematorium at Satya Nagar, where over 25 dead bodies are cremated daily. Locals allege they have been living in an unhealthy condition as persons dying of Covid are also cremated at Satya Nagar. They staged a demonstration before the BMC office and said there is now an increase in the number of dead bodies brought to Satya Nagar due to the pandemic.
