Over 10,000 farmers under the banner of the Krushak Sanghathan Samonnya Samiti (KSSS) here staged demonstration on Friday near the Bargarh Collectorate pressing for fulfilment of a five-point charter of demands.
They were led by KSSS Bargarh district convener laxman Padhan, secretary Kishor Chandra Debta and Padampur sub-divisional unit president Jayakrushna Sahu. They took out a rally in the town.
Their demands included immediate release of insurance payment, waiver of farm loan and outstanding electricity bill, fitness fine for tractors and monthly pension Rs 5,000.
