In a shocking incident, a girl student of the Government Industrial Training Institute (ITI) in Barbil town allegedly committed suicide in her hostel room on Tuesday.
The deceased, identified as Sridevi Mahakud, was found hanging in her hostel room. Her body was recovered from her room in the morning.
Sources said she was pursuing her third year (Electricals) course.
Even though police reached the spot, seized the body and sent it for postmortem, the reason behind her taking the extreme step was yet to be ascertained. Police are investigating into the incident and questioning her classmates and the ITI authorities. PNS
