A district level review committee meeting (DLRC) and district consultative committee meeting (DCC) was held recently under the chairmanship of district Collector Ramesh Chandra Rout.

In the meeting, the performances of various banks till September end were reviewed. MP RK Jena, besides observing that the bankers are adopting dillydally approach to extend loans to the beneficiaries, said only 8 per cent achievement in fulfilling the target in case of educational loans was disappointing.

He further observed that the Government money shouldn’t be deposited in those banks whose representatives were not attending meeting and performing up to the desired level.

Collector Rout warned that action would be taken against those banks which didn’t perform till end of this month. The bankers should either disburse the loan amount or reject the application with reasons instead of sitting over files for months together, he said.
