PNS

The Rourkela Railway police on Monday evening rescued a scared teenage Bangladeshi girl at the railway station. She was identified as Afroja laskar (14) and belongs to Anannagar of Magura district of Bangladesh. She is a student of Class-X.

As the girl was so scared and feared to reveal anything to the police, the police immediately called the Childline, Disha team and handed over the girl for further counseling.

During counseling it was known that the girl belonged to a poor family and taking advantage of this a man and a woman assuring a job to her at a Textile industry at Gujarat managed to bring her to Howrah through water-way and road route without any passport.

Then they were carrying her in Howrah-Ahmadabad express. But during journey in train the girl listened that they were taking her to sale in a brothel in Gujarat. So, as the train halted at the Rourkela station she got down and managed to hide in an isolation place.

Meanwhile, basing on the statement of the girl the Childline authorities talked to her family members, Collector, Magura and Bangladesh High Commissioner for her repatriation to Bangladesh as the girl has no passport.
